poem
The Second Wave
Just when the chaos settled down a bit, You fetched a storm - a lot stronger
Just when the world calmed down albeit, You crashed a wave - a lot longer
Who would have thought, it would be so bad? For all I see, is perishing hopes and frailties around
Who would have thought, it would be so sad? For all I hear is wails and just a siren's sound
And each time, I see someone staring at the horizon Every hour, taking puffs and weeping at his own loss
Each time, I see someone giving up on their dreams and loved one Losing faith upon their religion, even cursing their own gods
A million lives you took this time, A million homes you destroyed too
A million dreams just left unchased A million hopes you smashed too
Left a hole in heart somewhere, But all we can do is stay strong Stay safe, gain strength, build courage too For times too dire won't last long
Shan't last long!
